Istra 1961 has extended the contract with sports director Saša Bjelanović, who has been in this position since July 2022. This extension continues the continuity of successful work and the started project of long-term development of the club. In the previous period, stable and solid foundations for sports development have been established, and we are convinced that in the coming years, this direction will be further strengthened and improved. Club president Branko Devide Vincenti said he is extremely happy to have extended the cooperation with Saša as sports director. Bjelanović said he is grateful to the club and owners for the trust for another term as sports director. Istra 1961 has made the biggest sale in the club's history under his leadership - Salim Fago Lawal was sold for 2.4 million euros to Viktoria from Plzen. Saša Bjelanović has been the sports director of Istra since July 2022, and before that, from June 2018 to November 2019, he held the same position in Hajduk. And now he will continue working on the project of long-term development of the club. The successful work of Bjelanović will be crucial for the success of Istra 1961 in the upcoming period. But the club must continue to work on improving all segments in order to successfully compete in the HNL. So the extension of Bjelanović's contract is a positive step for the club. The club's fans are hoping that this will bring more success to the team. Istra 1961 is currently facing a challenging period, but with Bjelanović at the helm, they are hoping to turn things around.
